Let me start bye saying, "Coach, your still an awesome person" what's next?? I couldnt put your book down!! The names are awesome and bring back all kinds of memories of Football and Baseball. I received the book around 2pm yesterday from Amazon. Started looking at it around 4..... needless to say I couldn't drop it. I kept thinking who's next, what's gonna happen now?,Where's Don going? What curve, punch, or life experience is next? The book seemed like a Louie LaMoore, Sandlot, American Sniper, The Natural, and Forest Gump story, all mixed into one. I kept thinking I'll finish tomorrow, just one more chapter, oh I'm half way. Oops Im 50 pages away, oh damn only 6 chapters left. I couldn't stop... around midnight my eyes were a blurr and I was done. GOOD STORY!!Product details

This was a great story. I started reading the book as soon as I received it and finished the very next day. I was fortunate enough to grow up with Darrell and hear his stories and receive his advice often. He helped me with some tough situations so I was expecting something spectacular from this book and he did not disappoint. Fun to see all the names of some wonderful people in this book too. Very good read for young and old trying to make their way through life with meaning.
This is a wonderful book, a story well told about a young man who overcame a series of tragic events to become a corner stone of stability to everyone around him, where ever he went. The hero of the story is who we hope our children and grandchildren become. There were a lot of life lessons that were woven masterfully into the story. I am buying copies for all my grand kids (teenagers).
Wonderful, inspirational story that speaks to all ages. A fast and easy read, I finished the book in 2 days and by the end I had laughed, cried and cheered for Don Kelly. I highly recommend this book. It's packed with faith, family, sports and life lessons for all of us.
I began this book and could not put it down. Hardcastle wrote a wonderful story of perseverance through trials. A recommended read for all.
I came home from a long day of school and a tiring shift at work to find the book at my door. I was hooked from the beginning and did not put it down until I finished. I felt too attached to the characters to end my reading after the original 30 minutes I gave myself (accidentally extended my time until 0300). When I finished the last line I had chills. Don Kelly is truly inspiring.
Kept me glued to the pages. I don't know how many Don Kelly's there are in this world- but sure hope there's a lot. Hope Mr. Hardcaslte will keep writing!! Look forward to finding out how Don's adult life goes and the people lives he changes! Wonderful message - the world needs more books like this!
I bought this book because the Hardcastles are friends of mine and my son just went into a military program and needed an inspirational spiritual motivational book! This book is really covers it all! It will make you laugh, cry, and really think about life in general! Great Job Darrell Hardcastle! I pray I meet you and you can sign my book, per your Uncle A.B.H! God bless!!!
